Greta + Matt

“Jam nailed everything about our ceremony! She told our story so genuinely and kept it fun and engaging the whole time. We both couldn’t think of a more perfect celebrant for us. She made it incredibly personal throughout all of our engagements, always taking the time to get to know us and our story. Jam stayed on to be our MC after the ceremony and kept us all on track time wise. I’m sure we would have forgotten to eat the cake if she wasn’t there. Couldn’t recommend her more! She was also just a great vibe to be around, felt like hanging out with a really organised friend all day.”

Matt and Greta had put together a intentionally thoughtful day filled with love to celebrate them becoming ‘The Durstons’!

There were so many unique little elements that helped to make their wedding day extra special. Matt and Greta were driven to their wedding by Adam, who’s dad played the role of chauffer to Greta’s mum Annie on her wedding day. Our lovers then made their triumphant entrance hand in hand, along with their love-squad and fam. We gave special shoutouts to their love-squad at the start of the ceremony, including their adorable puppie Bessie, who then proceeded to steal the show by joining her parents and watching the ceremony in papa Matt’s arms.

Greta and Matt’s ceremony like most others had featured their meet-cute origin story. However their’s had a PLOT-TWIST as it is revealed in that moment that they didn’t really meet at the cafe that Greta was working at, instead they met through a good old fashioned ‘Tinder’ match! The surprised looks on their mama’s faces were simply priceless!!! Nothing like a ceremony REVEAL to keep the guests guessing!

Their online Tinder match almost didn’t take off as Greta said ‘No’ when Matt originally asked her out for a drink. Matt was in town for some training so with only a few days left he thought to ask Greta out again before he left town and this time she said ‘Yes’.

That first date saw Greta being pleasantly surprised by how attractive Matt was as she didn’t think blonde, country guys were 100% her type. It helped that Matt was just so easy to be with. Matt on the other hand was impressed by Greta’s sass and smarts, he couldn’t believe just how lucky he was to have met someone so special. After their initial drinks, they then stayed out for a game of pool (where Matt had to smoke Greta in the game as she mentioned something about being friends with state champions…), the night ended with Matt walking Greta to her car and sharing in a goodnight kiss.

Greta got home that night declaring to her mum Annie that ‘she was going to marry him!’ Matt had similar thoughts and desperately wanted to see Greta again so he proceeded to ask Greta to join him at his farewell dinner the following night. That night saw the romance level turnt up as they spent the evening holding hands under the table and watching shooting stars on their way home.

Our lovers then pursued a long distance relationship driving 2.5 hours to spend time with each other every other weekend. 6 months in Matt was offered a position in Melbourne at which point Greta jumped at the chance to also make the move and be with her man!

For their engagement Greta was inspired by the story of her mum Annie proposing to her dad. So she hatched a plan during COVID where she got a ring made for Matt and carried it in her bike shorts on a hike all the way up to the top of Mount Donna Buang.

Greta didn’t know where exactly she was going to ‘pop’ the question and nothing felt right. So as they were making their way back down the mountain single profile Greta casually mentioned that ‘this would have been a cute place to get engaged.’ Matt agreed and said if only he had a ring, to which Greta responds with ‘I do’ on bended knee asking Matt if he’d marry her. Matt was SHOOK and overwhelmingly said YES!!! By the time they got back down from their hike they were both giddy and high from the excitement of their engagement.

Matt and Greta’s wedding day at Jamsheed Wines was them throwing the ultimate ‘party’ that they had always talked about, to celebrate their love with their nearest and dearest. They did with class and style!

Demi + Alaska

“Navigating wedding vendors as a queer couple started out daunting however Jam was the perfect guide through the maze that is getting married! From our first meeting to signing the certificate, Jam was there with her cool, calm and confident vibes, always ready to answer my (many) questions. She became the foundation of our process. All parts of our ceremony were so personalised, with her magic touches (Polaroids of the journey, incense and golden vow cards to name a few!) making everything that much more special. If we could get married all over again we’d choose Jam every time.”

Demi and Alaska came to me with their dreams of getting hitched in amongst a spectacular visual feast of deliciousness and their ceremony was BEYOND… it delivered that and more.

Demi was enchanted with Alaska when she saw a low res video of her singing wayyyy back when they were just babes in high school up in Brisbane. Demi then low key followed Alaska across all social media platforms and became her No.1 fan, even when Alaska moved down to Melbourne. Before they knew it these cuties become long distance BFFs through daily texts and calls, with Alaska often checking in at the end of her day and having Demi ‘walk’ her home on the phone.

Demi finally got to quickly meet Alaska in person when she flew down to Melbourne to see a gig. Their brief encounter re-affirmed that there was something special between the two friends. As friends they embarked on several trips overseas to do all of the cute things in Korea. With each trip they grew a little bit closer… dreaming about the possibility of studying and living together there and sharing a room and/or bed.

They eventually realised part of that dream when Demi finally made the move down to Melbourne and into a sharehouse with Alaska. It was there where our two babes found their friendship blurred as they becamse inseperable, often seen holding hands and having regular sleepovers in each other’s rooms. Their underlying feelings for each other threatening to take over, with a cheeky birthday kiss on the lips that went unchecked.

It was not until Demi flew to NYC that Alaska finally came to the realisation that this was the real deal, now that she’s had Demi out of the phone and in her real life, she doesn’t ever want her to go. So upon Demi’s return Alaska firmly hinted that if Demi were to ask Alaska to be her girlfriend… the answer wouldn’t be no. And that’s how our BFFs became Tiny Girlfriends. Their ‘jelly love’ enables them to mould their love into whatever they need it to be, it allows them to grow, shift and come back to each other.

On November 11th 2023 Alaska and Demi became Tiny Wives exactly 5 years after they became Tiny Girlfriends. Demi proposed to Alaska on their 3 year anniversary with a lush picnic set up within Footscary gardens. Their decision to become Tiny Wives is a total power move, in order to demonstrate that their queer femme love is 100% valid and beautiful AF!!! They’re already living their best lives and getting married is just a party to top it all off. But Demi would be so happy if she could inspire other quote ‘baby lezzies’ out there to see just how fucking fabulous a queer life and love could be.

So for their hyper queer femme wedding, our lovers assembled a stella team of vendors to help realise their vision of celebrating their epic girl love. Their ceremony was set within Arc One Gallery on Flinders Lane, featuring works by Chinese artist Guan Wei. The space was further elevated with floral sculptures and arrangements by one of Melbourne’s hottest floral artists Kayla Moon of XFlos.

Our stunning brides Demi and Alaska had perfectly currated their sexy fairy/goddess outfits teamed with spealised nails by their BFF, Dawn of Quiche Nail Studio. Every little detail from having their girl gang on point, with their fav DJ BBSanii providing the tunes, to a drop dead gorgeous cake by Kefe Keke and to Demi personally embroidering each guests’ name place cards with their zodiac signs, it all meant that there was just so much love and thought that went into the planning of this incredible celebration.

So please enjoy the following little feast for your eyes with images from Demi and Alaska’s day captured by the talented Kara from The Runaway Hearts.

Issy + Ash

We were so lucky to have had Jam as our celebrant when we got married earlier in the year. We wanted a ceremony that felt magical and corny and inclusive and Jam definitely delivered that.
She simultaneously brought the room together while creating a beautiful safe space.

When we first met Jam she compared a marriage ceremony to weaving a spell and we knew from that moment that she was the celebrant for us.”

Issy and Ash dreamt up a wonderful day to proudly celebrate their super cute queer love!

Issy did not expect to meet their future wife the day they went to throw a banana peel out. As Issy opened the front door with said banana peel in hand, there stood Ash, fashionably early for her potential future sharehouse interview. Both parties were a little surprised to see each other at the front door, and as Issy chucks their banana peel into the wheely bin Ash explains that she was early for the housemate interviews as she wanted to make sure that it was the right house, coz it would be super weird to knock on the wrong door. Issy agreed that indeed it would be super weird if you knocked on the wrong door and promptly invited Ash to come on in. That simple gesture made Ash feel just so welcomed and at ease in Issy’s presence, even though the sharehouse didn’t exactly tick all of Ash’s boxes she had still accepted to move in by the end of the night thanks to the genuine warm vibes she had gotten off of Issy.

Our pair of housemates grew to become soulmates bonding over way too many late night chats, where they felt like they were able to be completely open with someone for the first time in their lives and in turn be vulnerable and seen. They admire the special qualities in each other and is able to bring out the best in one another.

As a couple Ash and Issy love sharing little rituals and traditions, like going on walks in the neighbourhood and patting all of the doggos, going to their favourite local cafe, doing tarot readings for each other as a way to see what’s going on in each other’s minds, or making up weird songs together, it’s putting up the Christmas tree and watching Christmas movies. They also love a good road trip adventure with music on, windows down, stopping for coffee and all the cute places along the way. It’s a moment for them to pause from the everyday, to check in with one another, romanticise about life and how they see their future.

For Issy and Ash dreamt of a future together as a family with kids of their own. So becoming legally married meant that they’d be officially recognised as future parents with Issy taking on the same name as Ash and their future bebes. But aside from the practical and legal reasons, Issy and Ash have come to realise that it means so much more. Marriage equality has thankfully become legal in Australia in the last 5 years, but queer love is still not legal or even accepted in other parts of the world. So Ash and Issy are both so proud to be able to tell their story and share their love, because their adorable queer love is super valid and deserves to be celebrated!

Ash also appreciates the romantic intentional aspect of saying their personal vows to each other. There is something powerful in performing ceremony and ritual. We have created a safe space during the ceremony for our lovers to open up, be vulnerable and share their inner most intimate feelings for one another in front of all their loved ones. It is a truly special occasion for all to bear witness in seeing our soon to be newlyweds laying the foundations to build their little families upon and to manifest the incredible married life they hope to share together.

Ash and Issy included so many thoughtful little touches to their wedding day. They started the day with a game of table tennis, then they got dressed and shared a ‘first look’ shoot with photographer Emily Howlett where they got to admire each other looking fine and all decked out in the special wedding dress and shirt personally handmade by Ash.

Their ceremony held at Rupert on Rupert meant that their guests were treated to an absolute feast of a day. Issy and Ash opted to arrive at Rupert early in order to greet their guests at the door with hugs as they entered. They then each walked down the aisle supported by their loving family. Ash and Issy’s ceremony was filled with heart, with them both nailing their vows filled with adorable personal anecdotes. After the ceremony each guest was greeted at the gorgeous table with a little hand embroidered hoop with their name, accompanied by a tarot card from a kitty cat tarot deck with handwritten meaning for the card that was drawn. Issy had also handwritten conversation cards placed around the tables for guests to get to know each other.

A truely magical day filled with love and thoughtful intentions, congrats to Issy and Ash!!!

Courtney + Adriano

“We had the best experience with Jam! She was kind, sweet, understading and so chilled and relaxed! She ran us through the whole process and was really accomodating with our hectic schedule, speceially seen as we planned our wedding in 2 months. We loved working with Jam and having her a big part of our special day. Would not have bee the same without her. Highly recommend! xx”

Courtney and Adriano were destined to be soulmates before they had even met.

It was all thanks to COVID that Age had to cancel his long planned voyage to Mexico. So naturally he went to see a clairvoyant to gain some perspective and inspiration for what’s to come, never did he think that the fortune teller would lead him to his future wife. The clairevoyant saw in the stars that Age would meet his match in a chick who shares his interest and passion for motorbikes, she described this chick as someone with blonde/brown hair and 2 kids. Age didn’t believe someone like that could possibly exist in this world… until a couple of months later. He was checking out a mate’s InstaStory when this hot blonde on a bike is featured on the ride. Age then promptly slid into @Harley_girl_Melbourne’s DMs to simply say ‘Hey’.

That simple ‘Hey’ turned into non stop messaging, followed by a 5 hour phone call. The very next day Age rocked up to Courtney’s front door only to find their connection was even more powerful in person. Age was blown away by the smokin’ hot chick who opened the door in a Harley jumper and black ripped jeans and thought ‘DAMN!!!’ Courntney was also checking Age out in his distinctive get up. Age might look tough at first with all his tatts, but Courtney soon discovered that when Age laughed that he had the most incredible smile. They got on like a house on fire and have been pretty much inseperable ever since that day.

For Courtney and Age’s wedding day, they got started with a morning ride on their self-built Bonehead Custom motorbike to Archie Brothers in Docklands for some relaxed amusement fun with their photographer Kaz and videographers Cass and Kane. Our lovers then rode out to their ceremony held at motorbike mechanic turned Mexican bar Benzina Cantina in Preston.

One of Age’s most treasured memories is meeting Courtney’s daughters Charlotte and Gracie as well as being there to witness Courntey give birth to their beautiful boy Rio. So it was a full circle moment during their ceremony set within a Mexican bar that Age vowed to care for Courntey’s girls as his own and gifted them each with a heart necklace.

Our newlyweds completed their ceremony with a Tequila shot toast with all of their loved ones. They then went outside to pop some bottles of champagne in amongst all of the smoke and loud ruckus coming from one of their friends doing an epic burnout.

What a dramatic way to start their ceremony after party celebrations!

David + Leah

“Jam, thanks so much for being such an awesome celebrant and making the service on our big day so special. You went above and beyond to ensure the ceremony was tailored to our values and personalities as a couple; you were engaging, witty, sentimental and created the perfect balance between being light-hearted and deeply emotional. You were also super punctual and informative in the lead-up to our wedding. We would highly recommend you to others who want a bit of wow-factor for their ceremony <3”

Leah may be small in stature, but her presence and that megawatt smile of hers can light up any room she enters. And that’s exactly what she did that fateful evening as she entered a room full of teenage boys for an end of year dinner at her brother’s school. Leah had made quite an entrance and turned a few heads, Dave being one of them. Dave then turns around to his mate John and asked if he checked out that hot girl in the orange dress to which John responds with ‘That’s my sister, don’t even think about it!’ A couple of days later Leah receives a cheeky Facebook friend request from a David who goes to her brother’s school and when she asked about him, John simply said ‘Don’t accept! I’m going to kill him!’ Leah of course then goes on to press ACCEPT on David’s friend request. It goes to show that you can’t block that teenage lust/love, John has since given our lovers his blessing and was proudly present at Leah and Dave’s wedding day!

Leah and Dave fell in love as teenagers and have grown up and evolved together, they share a love for music and art respectively and support each other in their individual creative pursuits. So when they travelled to Berlin together a few years ago, they found that the city amplified their passion for the arts and in turn their love for each other. They have plans to return to Berlin as a married PowerCouple and take the city by storm!

Dave being a visual artist approached proposing to Leah with the same care and thought that he would to his own practice. He had worked closely with local jeweller Alicia Hannah Naomi to give form to a ring which features a warm orange diamond, that is reminiscent of Leah’s eyes during a sunset. The stunning piece is set in a band of moody grey white-gold, resembling the power of the ocean as it crashes against the rocks, as a nod to Leah’s love of the ocean. As Melbourne slowly emerged from one of its many pandemic lockdowns and just days before Leah’s birthday, all the stars aligned for Dave to surprise Leah with a sunset beach picnic proposal.

For their wedding celebration set amongst the lush estate at Mitchelton Wines, our lovers had engaged some of their close friends and family to add to their day. Dave had his photographer mate Niki behind the lense capturing the day, as well as the lovely Tegan from Honesty Flora working her magic. Dave’s beloved grandmother Val happen to be a legendary celebrant in her days and was invited up at the end of their ceremony to crown our newlyweds with conducting the traditional Greek wedding ritual of Stefana. Dave and Leah also brought their own personal touches to their wedding with Dave making all the signage artwork for the day and Leah jumping on the decks at their reception party to really fire up the dancefloor!

It was an absolute honour to have been a part of David and Leah’s celebration of love and I wish them both the best in rocking out their newly married life in Berlin!
