Evie + Cam
Evie and Cam matched online through a little app called HInge during the throws of a global pandemic.
Their playful chemistry saw them leave their Lockdown bubbles in order to meet up IRL for a one on one walk around the Carlton Gardens. If you recall that was the only social contact Melbournians were permitted around that time. Cam recalls Evie being fashionably late to their fountain rendezvous, and when he called to see where she was at, he fell instantly for the bubbly voice on the other end.
Evie eventually made it to their date and casually linked her arm in with Cam’s in preparation for their walk. That simple gesture immediately made Cam feel at home. They spent the afternoon strolling through some of Evie’s favourite spots around her neighbourhood and by the end of their date Cam knew that he wanted to see more of her.
Cam and Evie’s love blossomed within their own little intimate pandemic bubble. They found themselves skipping down miserable wintery Melbourne streets singing and laughing behind their face masks, relishing in the knowledge that they’ve found their ultimate ride or die.
For their wedding day they invited their dearest family and friends for a delicious afternoon and evening held at picturesque Farm Vigano. They had incorporated the beautiful Greek tradition of Stefana during their ceremony using the same crowns that Evie’s parents used for their own wedding over 40 years ago.
I had the honour of stepping into the role of the MC for the first time for Evie and Cam’s reception. I introduced our newlywed husband and wife back to join their guests, at which point they proceeded to cut their cake and move into their first dance, followed by getting everyone to join them on the dancefloor for a boogie to ‘The Land of 1000 Dances’.
Cam and Evie really wanted to light up the dancefloor. So as soon as the speeches were finished we got the party started with some traditional greek dancing, then building up to a rowdy night of tunes thanks to Rich Spanning Time behind the decks.
