Noirín + Eddie

“From the very beginning, we felt like the only couple Jam was working alongside to get hitched. It was magic from start to finish. Her personal touches, attention to our wishes and vision was respected and heard. Her energy is unique and allowed us to be our complete selves on the day.
Thank you from the depths of our hearts for being part of the most carefree, magical week of our lives.
Mr and Mrs H :)”

These two adorable adventure seekers have been together for almost a decade and have travelled to nearly 40 countries in that time… and so their epic Dunkeld elopement ceremony was nothing short of breathtaking!

Eddie and Noirín are two of the most loveable people you’d ever meet and together they are this powerhouse of good vibes and laughs, charming anyone who’s lucky enough to enter into their orbit.

Noirín and Eddie’s delightful love story opens down under at Queensland’s sunny Airlie Beach. Our newly arrived backpacking-ready Irish lass and English lad met onboard a vessel aptly named the Broomstick. They were instantly attracted to each other’s infectious energy and spent 3 blissful days sailing around the Whitsundays touring the Great Barrier Reef, drinking goon and having the ‘craic’ into the early hours. By the end of the trip they knew that they have found in each other a life long friend. And when they caught up in Brisbane they took their friendship to the next level and witnessed their electric connection grow in leaps and bounds. There was a 2am kiss at a bus stop, first date rollerblading around the city and declarations of love made under a tree in the pouring rain. They became absolutely inseparable, doing everything they can in order to spend every moment together.

Hand in hand as the ultimate adventure duo Eddie and Noirín travelled the world and the seven seas, at the same time making their home base in Melbourne. So whilst on a great outdoor tour of Tassie and after a massive hike around picturesque Cradle mountain, a very nervous Eddie asked Noirín to marry him.

The following year saw the world come to a grinding halt under a global pandemic, but that did not stop Noirín and Eddie’s plans to become married. That’s where I came into the picture. Noirín got in touch with me (after seeing my ‘Celebrant Jam’ sign out the front of my house on their local walks) about their dream of a mountain elopement. And when they told me that they had enlisted the amazing Jackson Grant to be their photographer on the day, I knew that this is going to be a bloody ripper!

Noirín and Eddie had decided on having their elopement in Dunkeld, a beautiful town based at the foot of the Grampians. And so they went out there one weekend to suss out the perfect ceremony spot. They drove around and was literally checking out gumtrees from the side of the road, which raised the attention of a certain farmer whose property the gumtrees were on. Next minute Noirín mustered up all her Irish charm and courage and drove up to the farm gate to ask the farmer if they could have permission to get married under one of the gumtrees on his property. The farmer had a good chuckle and proceeded to welcome Eddie and Noirín onto his property and show them around. He gave them the green light to take their pick of any gumtree for their elopement ceremony. And that’s how we ended up with the most epic mountain views as the backdrop for Eddie and Noirín’s ceremony.

On the day of their wedding Noirín and Eddie woke up together and got ready at their lux boutique Salt Creek Cottage accommodation. The morning skies were shrouded in clouds of grey with patches of drizzle coming down from time to time. I arrived on the property to greet our lovely farmer and his wife who were also our official ceremony witnesses to Eddie and Noirín’s marriage. A patch of drizzle came down as Eddie joined us on our drive out to our gumtree to set up for the ceremony. We arrived to find a flock of sheep hanging about, with a family of emus grazing in the distance. And not long after, the farmer’s old white stallion wanders over to have a sticky beak at what we are up to. The skies then thankfully cleared as we got ourselves ready in anticipation of Noirín’s arrival, the sun even came out at some point during Eddie and Noirín’s ceremony, it was simply perfect. I put it down to Noirín’s luck-of-the-Irish!

As for our stunning bride Noirín, she made her spectacular entrance in a vintage white VW beetle driving wildly through the paddock like a mad rally race driver, with the hilarious Jackson Grant squished in the back. Noirín emerged gloriously from the VW beetle and our soon to be newlyweds greeted each other with pure joy!

Eddie and Noirín’s ceremony was full of heart and at one point I read out letters from their darling parents blessing our lovers with their words of support and happiness. Nolz and Eddie then made their vows to each other for their life ahead as a married couple. We then showered them in a burst of confetti as they sealed their vows with a kiss. We signed the official marriage papers with our fabulous farmers and had a winning champaign toast before our ‘Just Married!’ newlyweds drove off in their little VW beetle.

Our newly married husband and wife shared their first dance on an empty stretch of road in front of some moody cloudy cliffs before returning to their ceremony gumtree for a deluxe picnic set up by local businesses Premium Picnic teamed with Simson and Co.

These two epic lovers know how to dream big and adventure even bigger! It was such a pleasure to be a part of their wedding day and I can’t wait to see what they get up to as team Neddie the ultimate husband and wife adventure duo.

Peter + Jess

“We really couldn't have been happier with Jam's service! She was incredibly professional throughout the process and her warmth and support made us feel that we were always in safe hands. In the months leading up to our wedding Jam made sure that we were prepared and our meetings were always full of laughter and sincerity. Her performance on the day was fantastic and our guests all commented on her vibrancy and were very impressed with the beautiful words that she put together on our behalf. We could not recommend Jam more highly!”

What an absolute honour to have been a part of Pete and Jess’ beautiful ceremony of love.

Jess and Pete began as casual party buddies catching a glimpse of each other out with friends at the occasional gathering, party or music festival. And so for their wedding they have put together the ultimate gathering in celebration of the life they have created together.

These two radiant lovers brought their extended family and friends together under a lush canopy within Banksia Park right behind the Heidi Museum.

Their wedding day could not have been more perfect!

The dappled afternoon sun shone through to illuminate our lovers upon their ceremony spot enhanced with a backdrop of florals by Emma Lane Flowers.

Jess and Pete’s ceremony was full of heart. We began by thanking all who have come and paid special tribute to Pete’s papou Pete, whom he was named after. We spoke of the family legend of papou Pete and his pursuit of true love. Papou Pete was a merchant sailor and met yiayia Mary on their voyage to Australia. Papou Pete then jumped ship in Melbourne in pursuit of his true love. Armed with only her first name, papou Pete scoured the city, encountering many hardships, until he finally found his Mary working at an ice cream shop in Richmond. Papou Pete leaves behind a legacy of a love that’s worth fighting for! What an OG romantic!

Mid ceremony our soon to be newlyweds were serenaded by some of their amazingly talented friends with an original spoken word piece composed by Eddie, which was then followed by a live musical performance from the trio of Joe, Bella and Nick. Simply wonderful moments within the ceremony beautifully captured by Mike from Socialise Photo.

Mike also captured our newlyweds looking simply golden under the stunning setting sunlight and then having an absolute blast into the night on the dance floor!

Sara + Adam

“Jam, I get so teary thinking about our ceremony four weeks later. It was absolutely perfect and our friends and family commented on how very us it was and how lucky we were to have someone that knew us so well marry us. I can't imagine anyone else would have pulled it off. Your support in the lead up to the day was amazing and we couldn't have done it without you!! Thank you so much Sara and Adam”

Sara & Adam _ Neon City Wedding _0617_ONE01655.jpg

Adam and Sara are the most low-key fabulous couple!

So 2020 saw the world go through a wild Coronacoaster ride of a year. Sara and Adam seemed to somehow embraced each unexpected sudden change and come out more fabulous than before! Just as a developing world pandemic saw an end to Adam and Sara’s long awaited wino trip to Tassie by shutting down the boarders with less than 12 hours till they were scheduled to fly out, Adam decides in that moment to casually proposed to Sara. He went out the very next day to buy a ring, the following day saw Melbourne go into a total Lockdown. Now that’s some boss move!!!

A couple of months later, Sara literally googled local celebrants ‘for a very low key ceremony’ and luckily found me in her search. It took us a few emails back and forth to finally ‘meet up’, and when we did, we found out that we had local friends in common, so it was a perfect match. And when I say ‘meet up’ I meant we had to negotiate our rendezvous plans around COVID venue restrictions and capacities. Eventually we agreed on me conducting a home visit, only to be plunged into Lockdown 2.0 with no visitors allowed to enter your residence, so our first ‘meeting’ had to pivot online.

I did eventually get to meet up with Sara and Adam in person a few months later to finally complete some of their legal marriage paperwork (the Notice of Intended Marriage form), with them. Just as we were about to catch up for our final meeting, the week of Adam and Sara’s wedding, Melbourne went into a sudden-death 5 day SNAP lockdown. Like literally WTF! Thank F the restrictions eased after the 5 stress inducing days had passed. And at our final online meeting we planned to complete the rest of our legal marriage paperwork just before we kick off their official ceremony. Sara casually mentioned at the end of our meeting that they’ll have Anna Taylor from Lulu & Lime present as their photographer on the day, with some styling by Good Day Club, two of my fav wedding vendors!

So on the day when I rocked up onsite at the chapel within Mission to Seafarers, I was blown away by the absolutely fabulous set up by the good people from Good Day Rentals as well as the bold eye popping blooms by Bloom Boy. And when I finally met Sara to complete our Declaration of No Legal Impediment to Marriage document I had to simply gush over her stunning Jason Grech dress. This low-key ceremony had just gone next level bold and beautiful.

Adam and Sara’s intimate marriage ceremony had only 25 of their VVIPs present and it was full of heart and feels. It was my first ceremony delivered ‘blind’, Sara and Adam elected to not know beforehand what was to be said during the ceremony and to hear it for the first time along with their guests. This ensured that there were some truly genuine tears and laughs coming from our beautiful lovers up front and centre.

After our little ceremony, our newlyweds had a moment to relax before the rest of their loved ones arrived to help them celebrate their newly married status wildly into the night.

Pia + Gonzalo

“We can't thank Jam enough for the beautiful ceremony and words that she had given to us and our loved ones at our wedding day in 2020.
We met her through destiny and we could not be more thankful for that.
Jam is very organised and professional celebrant, but at the same time she down to earth and so lovely. She definitely has a sense for all the beautiful details which made our ceremony so unique. She created a most beautiful flow and vibe. It was more than we ever expected for our little, but very close and beautiful wedding in the unexpected and different year 2020.”

IMG_5347.jpg

Pia and Gonzo are from opposite ends of the earth. It was at a lime farm in the far north tip of Australia that this beautiful German girl met her handsome Chilean future husband. They hit it off straight away and spent a wonderful couple of weeks working and enjoying the summer festivities on the lime farm. Gonzalo eventually had to return to Melbourne to resume his studies and they had made plans for Pia to join him in a couple of week’s time. During their 2 weeks apart their hearts grew feverishly fonder and when they were finally reunited in Melbourne their relationship went into hyperdrive.

Gonzo and Pia fell in love in and with Melbourne. It is here against the colourful Melbourne backdrop where they shared their hopes and dreams and moved in with each other to create their own home away from home with each other. They had both worked hard to save up and visit each other’s families and homes back in Germany and Chile. They loved sharing all of themselves with each other and felt that together they can do anything.

So the last time Pia’s folks came out to Melbourne for a visit, Gonzo formally asked Pia’s parents for their blessing for them to be married. And even though Pia’s folks are happily-not-married, her father Benno was so overcome by the incredibly moving moment that he cried tears of joy.

And then 2020 and a global pandemic happened.
All of their wedding dreams went out the window that is until…

Pia saw a sign… LITERALLY!

A chance encounter at the front of my house brought Pia face to face with my Celebrant Jam sign. That moment was pure fate and the rest is wedding history!

For Gonzo and Pia’s intimate ceremony they had gathered their closest family and friends in Melbourne at the picturesque Carlton Gardens to witness their nuptials. And living in the COVID age with thanks to modern technology both Pia and Gonzo’s parents were able to join in the ceremony via video link. Our lover’s beautiful heartfelt ceremony was followed by champagne and cake before the wedding party continued their celebrations throughout Melbourne.
